SUBJECT: Documents
Professor,
I heard you've been trying to research the ███████████████ incident.
I'm afraid you won't find any useful information in the official archives.
They've all been cleaned up. I happen to have copies of certain documents
which were among those expunged – partially redacted, but I imagine they
will still be of interest. You'll have to excuse the quality; with material like
this, one takes what they can get. I won't get into how they came into my
possession, except to say that it involved significant personal risk. At the
time, I intended to write a book about these events. As my research
progressed, I became convinced this would be unwise. Perhaps you will
arrive at a similar conclusion, or perhaps not. You may feel your institutional
connections will protect you, and this may in fact be true. I didn't have any.
If you do decide to push forward with the project, and the book you end up
writing is permitted to be published, don't try to credit me. When you wake up
in the morning, this message will be gone.
Signed,
█████
